Back in the 1980's I sported a Datejust self winder / wanker. That thing never kept what I would consider 'accurate' time. Yes, I did have the dealer, clean and service it and candidly was told they're not the best timekeepers. Imagine that, a Rolex dealer telling you this after spending a few thou for a frickn' watch?! Also, the 14k gold and stainless bracelet links would wear out loose. That watch matches the image of the whale tail on my 1984 911 (that tail has to go). I have a British made auto-winder Timex from 1970 that keeps better time! But these days my favorite is a stainless steel Casio analog face watch, solar charged (holds 15 days total darkeness) and is atomic timed. The most amazing thing was paying $18.00 clearance at a Kohl's store. Zero maintenence and I don't need to wank anymore...L.
