Hahaha. I guess I should have explained more. It was one of the graphic novels (comic books) for the english class. There wasn't the 6 year gap but there was some love at first sight stuff and sparks flying. That was not the only story line, though. Lots of inner religious conflict within the main character from a bible-thumping baptist family/community. Plus some other themes. Name of the book was "Blankets".

Is that a baby one? If not, I would say it is a Cooper's Hawk. The juvenile Red-Tails have striped tails like Cooper's Hawks and Red-Shouldered Hawks but the adults have red tails (obviously).
