Exactly why others in the region want the current condition to remain. (higher profits for the rest in the region)
Furthermore, the US, having still quite a lot of oil fields, is one of the least dependent countries for middle east oil. (our gas prices are much lower than jst about anywhere)
Yet there will always be those whom want to spin the situation in to something it's not.
The fact of the matter is, there are too many whacko's whom are obtaining the means of mass destruction. When you combine that with their "cause" of getting their 15min's of fame by mass killings, you will see it becomes a bit more than "oil prices."
If the US was as bad as some say, the majority of that region would be a sheet of glass with oil rigs stamped "Made in the USA"
. . .but you know, Tabs is right; "In the long run American influence will be a moderating influence in the region"
So rethink that whole "it's oil control" propaganda stance; Would ya?
