Agreed the USA is the least dependent on Mid East oil but other countries need it to lubricate their economies. The USA ie the Industrialized world can't afford to let a bunch of whackos control it. So we need to step into the region to be that moderating force. This goes way beyond just the oil itself but how it effects the world ecomony. Thats the Big Picture. Now I heard on the Tube that the oil companies were in favor of home owners using solar power to creat electricity....here in California the state govt is giving rebates to homeowners who install solar panels that generate electricity.....the electric company will buy your excess power and thaen at night you buy it back...so that in the long run one can reduce their electric bill. So the USA is starting to wean itself from oil dependency? Hybrid cars? But in the meantime Sodamn has got to go.
with regards to weapons of mass destruction Sodamn has been a liability in the region and now that 911 has occured can no longer be tolerated as a loose cannon. The region has become the most important to US national security due to that dam black stuff that the world needs a daily fix of.
I would say that if the people of the US saw that it was a matter of having their SUV and electricity or a 100,000 American casualities, they would take the casualities....cause the alternative is a new dark ages. Thats basically the game we are playing in.if U really take a look at the world economic system it's all based on the faith that the USA currency or the Euro is really worth something..it's all an abstraction of value, and if that illusion is broken the world economy falls. The WTC was a rock thrown at the glass house.
