Fascinating! That is simply amazing how something as simple as a screen can arrest the flame and prevent an explosion. Now that I think about it, I remember a 5-gallon Gerry can when I was a kid had that screen (the simple one) at the opening. I always wondered what it was for. Now I know. Come to think of it, why are those screens not used for example at the gas pump or at the gas cap of a car? Perhaps it is too fill rate restrictive when filling?
