We have seen big cats in our back 'yard' many times because it is connected to some large wooded areas. Los of folks are missing pets.
Yes they are beautiful animals but will attack and kill if they want to. When people feel threatened many just shoot, shovel, and shut up. If caught after killing one here you WILL be in huge trouble.

I've heard similar stories about wolves in he US. After being reintroduced into the wild they cause havock for farmers and rural people. Their pets often disappear or are fond torn up near their houses... And they can't shoot them.
It seems like a hopeless situation. Surely you can protect your own life and property.
