Having been is a similar situation all I can say you owe it and need it for yourself to do this. Put the doubts aside and do it.

For me not being able to work and convalescing at home was like an 12 month jail sentence. I am sure you will get back into the swing of things very fast.

It's about intestinal fortitude. You have to and will find a way to work through the pain and the associated crap that comes along with your situation.
