Spend your time investigating the body/rust issues and
post pictures if at all possible. You are dealing with someone who, apparently, doesn't know much about Porsches, let alone early cars. $7500 could be an excellent price if the body is solid and relatively rust free--especially for a 72. You need expert help, however, to determine if it is solid. If the body needs considerable rust repair, the unique oil tank has been removed, and the engine is marginal, all bets are off.
