I have been reviewing posts about metal bits in the oil filter on all the Porsche forums. I would guess that very few people actually open their oil filters and check for metal bits. In fact, my local Porsche dealer service department claims they do not open the filters.
I would bet if all filters were opened at oil change there would be a pretty high percentage of motors that spew out little bits like this and chug along happily for many thousands of miles until.............
