Is there supposed to be a connection between those two statements? The way you put them together at the beginning of that paragraph with "some employers would ream me out" in the middle there, leads me to think you meant something by them, but... I don't see a connection.
Regarding your overall question, if you see a weird one/loner beginning to stock up on lots of firearms and ammo, you might wanna say something... to whom, I wouldn't know.
Or not... he may know something about the zombie apocalypse that we don't.
