I remember I started working at the age of 16 and some employers would ream me out for next to nothing. These "adults" hardly leave home and are protected by their mothers. Is this a common phenom. and how do you u handle it? Or perhaps it is none of our business because it is in somebody else's home? What do u think?

Maybe you should walk over to the house, knock and offer the boy a job doing something just to see the reaction on each of their faces. I know I'd enjoy doing that.
