Salmon Arm posted $0.76 today for Regular. Saw an $0.84 sign in Kamloops yesterday.
Lived on the Island for a few years, hate that Ferry. How about the Billion that was spent on the super ferries? Could have built a bridge easily for that!!!! I'm friends with the guy that built the PEI bridge, only cost a billion and it's twice the design challenge; as well the entire thing didn't come out of the tax payers pockets. (Except the salaries of the million gov't inspectors)
The Vanc. Isl. bridge would span to 7 different Islands with the longest span being about 5 miles (?if memory serves me?), and the waters are much less severe. The proposal was put forth years ago for much less than a billion - but those Islanders must be inter-breeding or something? They didn't want it!!!! Or so it was stated. Would have been a one way toll bridge, but still less than a ferry trip (much less) and about a sixth of the time required.
My parents still live there and we get to "enjoy" a ferry ride once in awhile now and then, it's OK for tourists, but the mainstream?
Oil companies are skinnin us alive! Watch out......
