OK, well I guess this is why I am an ME...
When the FSAE car stopped working I had thought briefly about the "low voltage" battery being dead, but we only ran for 5-10 minutes intermittently and it was 13.6V when we started. I figured 13.6V was close enough to charged for a 12V battery. Well, that voltage was just barely enough for the low voltage battery. It became too low after running. I charged it fully today (2+hours) and it went up to around 14.5V. Car works now.
