Any recommendation for a BMW repair shop in O.C.?
Our '07 328i won't start. Everything lights up fine, no error messages or anything unusual, but when you press the start button, the starter doesn't fire.
For the last few months, the starter would occasionally be a little "slow," when you pressed the button it would kick over once kind of slowly, hesitate a split second, then turn and start the car.
Original battery, so I thought for sure it was the battery going out. But yesterday it wouldn't turn over at all.
Tried a jump start through the jump start terminals in the engine compartment, no start.
Put in a new battery, still no start.
I normally do all the work, and changing any of the parts isn't too much different than an older car, but the diagnostics is a lot harder to do without the readers, etc.
And basic tests are sometimes harder. For example, I'd normally check to see voltage at the starter solonoid to see if it's being triggered (if not, probably a bad starter). But, of course, on this car you need to remove the entire intake manifold to even see the starter.
So, for the first time in a couple of decades, I'm thinking of throwing in the towel and taking it to a shop. I'm getting too old for this.
Any recs for a good BMW specialist in Orange County?
