Sorry I don't have an answer for you. There's probably a number of posts here in the archives and I know Clarks GArage has a write up on repairing it also.
Based on others feedback that have replaced their struts and then had to deal with the glass issue, I'm pretty sure I'm not going to replace mine when the time comes. I understand some haven't had any issues with new struts but I think the two are related.
I'm probably going to make something out of wood that will hold the hatch open.
