I had a 1966 Fairlane GT 390 that would snap the fingers off of a pressure plate every 3-4 months.
@ 19 years old I learned to drive it home clutchless. Once from your neck of the woods to Lakewood.
I could drop the toploader out and swap the pressure plate out in about 3 hours by myself with out a tranny jack.
I kept a spare pressure plate at home. I could never figure out what was the problem. New Ford, McCloud it didn't matter. ended up with two McClouds . Red would rebuild them for free for me. 20 years latter he custom built one for my mustang.
