My 8 year old girl, who has always been quite anti-gun (thanks to my peacenik wife), got a chance to shoot a bb gun the other day. Loved it. Wants me to buy a BB gun. I'm not so sure. My parents wouldn't let me have BB guns. They didn't like the idea of anything that made a gun seem like a toy. An odd position, but I can see the appeal. When I wanted to shoot a gun, my dad got a brick of .22 shells and would take me to the woods. It was real guns from day one.
