Well, I found out that it wasn't the cable. I'm using the old cable on my new monitor. This new monitor is a POS, especially the speakers. Since the problem could be temporarily fixed by moving the cable connection at the monitor, do you think I can get a new multi pin plug and install it?

The old monitor has memory card slots, side mounted USBs, and a firewire connection that I never did know what that did. Oh, I guess that was for the USBs and card slots. Never used them.

Seemed like a pretty good set up but it is an HP that is 6 years old at this point.

Or maybe someone has some speakers they could sell me for not too much.
