I see that a bit differently. When I hear a tv announcer say "gosh", I kind of think they're being respectful of God and the word's use. I think the overusage of "Oh my God!" for everything and anything is disrespectful. I like the use of "gosh" when someone is responding to a great baseball catch, or a cool pair of shoes, or a great new beer, or a slick new car, or a beautiful woman in skimpy clothes, or an awesome steak prepared just right, or a sweet find on CL, or a shocking expose' on E! TV, or the discovery of a $100 bill in some old jacket, or a acceptance letter to a college.
I think Hollywood/TV/highschools/etc has shoved "Oh my God!" into every possible situation that the term's real meaning is lost. And the icing of that cake is the term "OMFG!".
