What? You mean "I'd sure love to motorboat THOSE!" isn't polite?
We recently had a job opening for which I had the dubious responsibility of screening candidates via phone, email, etc. prior to bringing them in for an on-site interview. On-sites take time away from our engineers and money away from our budget. These candidates were sent (in the form of resumes) to us from our HR department.
NOT A SINGLE ONE of the candidates we received was a white male. There were plenty, though, who COMPLETELY FAILED to meet ANY of the requirements listed in our job description.
I find it
interesting that our HR department would be willing to champion diversity in lieu of quality.
