seems impossible for me. official coleman funnel? check! big square can-o-fuel? check!

jam funnel in, and glug glug glug..start trickling it in. soon i notice slight weeping from the lantern fill-hole the funnel is jammed into. o-oh..the funnel has some fuel in it..pull funnel, all excess fuel sloshes everywhere..cuss.

what am i doing wrong? i like to fill them up to the max for shorter weekends, because i wont need to bring the square can along. is spilling fuel just part of the experience?

pulling the funnel occasionally to peek into the dark cavernous tank is futile. white gas is really, CLEAR gas.

tips?

btw, my vintage coleman lantern is badass!! much brighter than my newer model.
