Oils again?? All I can say is I've used 15-50w Mobil 1 in my Porsches for over 30 years in Texas heat, in Turbos and normally aspirated, MFI and electronic and I have NEVER had an oil related problem.
There may be other oils out there that are equally good but you will not go wrong with 15-50w Mobil 1, and it has sufficient ZDDP.
I think it is preferable to drain the tank at the bottom outlet and clean the filter there at the same time. That way the crap at the bottom of the tank will be flushed out. When it's empty I'd take the float out and shine a light down to see the condition of the tank. It would also be advisable to change out all your fuel hose and brake hoses too.
