The price of 912s has certainly risen, but the repaint will hurt this one, as well as any "needs xxxx work" statements. The thing to do would be to repair any little things like the steering and get it mechanically A1, then your only discount is the repaint or any cosmetics. I'm sure she isn't interested in taking that route, so I have to say that somewhere between $10k and $15k is where I think it should land. 1968 is a dog year for 912s because of the love it/hate it interior styling and the 1-year-only catalyst system. On the up side the color is great, and if it's fairly solid mechanically that's always a plus. Any 912 I've seen get to the $15k mark or beyond has been exceptional in some way, and this one doesn't appear exceptional.
She should do fine!
