He was robbing a store, putting other people's lives at risk... he got the logical consequence of his actions. I have no objections to that. I'm pro-gun, pro-CCW.
But man... he looks like a kid! I'm bummed that he went down that road. It makes you wonder if his course could have been changed, if sometime in his past somebody could have gotten through to him and made a difference. We'll never know. It sounds like he was just a stupid kid playing a dangerous game, thinking life was a game, and not realizing or caring how serious the consequences of his actions were... for him and everybody else around him.
He should have been going to college, or working as an apprentice to a master craftsman, or even sweeping a floor. Anything else but this. It's his own fault, but it's still a damn shame. A young life thrown away for nothing. Several lives changed forever; the hero, the manager, the family, the bystanders. None will be the same. His mom has to bury her son. Maybe it was all her fault. Or maybe she did the best she could and just couldn't get through to him, hoped he'd grow out of it. Not now.
I'm glad he was taken out before he hurt somebody, but I'm not going to laugh about a kid that died today. For his family, today feels like the end of the world.
I should probably put on a flame suit now...
