I can relate to this... After spending the last 6-12 months successfully skirting around the $$ questions, I accidently left a receipt on the kitchen bench. The receipt was from my mechanic for a part payment for my current motor rebuild. I managed to dodge this muttering something like it was a quote and so far it has worked..

We do though have an unwritten and unspoken agreement - she doesn't look too hard at what I spend on the car as long as I don't question the new additions to her wardrobe...
