Just looked that up. It's for drag racing. Something about the launch RPM tied into the transmission. Suspect you won't need that. Good eye.
As T77911S mentioned there is a coated copper coil about the size of an old silver dollar (1/2" thick) in your distributor that can fail. It picks up the collapsing magnetic field as the stator spins inside the reluctor and triggers the CD box through the green wire. I will send you my spare if you want to trouble shoot this possibility. You may have to remove your distributor as the green wire plugs into the side of the coil and that wire fastener is not positioned for easy access. It is not a frequent failure point.
