It makes no sense to me that a state charges tax based on KBB versus actual price paid. I guess that's their way of trying to crack down on fraud and people declaring cars way lower than they actually paid to avoid paying taxes.

I consider my '85 Carrera with 85k mi on it, nice interior, rebuilt gearbox, no engine leaks and in need of paint a $15k car. I'd sell it for cash today at that price.

My '86 Carrera is immaculate, is a rare colour and has a bunch of special order options, but has 125k mi on it. In today's market I think it's a $20k car.
