NORRA was the 1st venue wayy before SCORE to hold the 1st BAJA 1000 offroad races back in the 60's all the way down the peninsula.

the reason for NORRA is because techno advances in HP/SUSPENSION have leap frogged light years ahead of these OLD SKOOLERS.
the ruts created by present day TROPHY TRUCKS and CLASS 1 UNLIMITED cars with insane suspension travel and insane HP, create whoop de doos that old skool vehicles cannot handle but at a snails pace.
hence.............the NORRA 1000. just picture james garners oldsmobile ,walker evans dodge truck, mickey thompsons buggies etc. malcom smith on his HUSKY 500XC etc etc.
