Yes, North/South engine mounting allows/requires equal length front halfshafts, thus "symmetrical" "AWD". Given all the versions of "awd" capability that Subbie uses, has used, over the years at first I didn't understand the "symmetrical" bit.

Then I ran across some Subbie literature that explained their (uniquely misleading) use of the term.

The only full time "symmetrical" AWD one might have equates ONLY to three full open diff'ls, front/center, rear. Fully "symmetrical" , 25/25/25/25, right up to the point wherein you find yourself, unless TC is "on", with a "ONE-WHEEL" drive system.
