I go to this guy:
Al's Jaguar Service & Repair - Torrance - Torrance, CA
He has been there since starting out working for his dad who has passed away. I don't think Kent had ever heard the exact words, "pre-purchase inspection." He took my car in before I bought it and said it would be 100 bucks to go ever it. I was a bit unsure at that point. He found about $600 worth of work that I certainly was not interested in doing, like the rubber drive shaft coupling (a common wear item) and took the 100 off the bill when I told him to go ahead and fix 3 selected items.
His list of defects was thorough but rather informal. I think he wrote them on the back of a register receipt that he didn't give me, just read from it. And odd duck he is. When you read the reviews, you'll get it.
