Simple Yes! Inexpensive NO!
I know at first glance these look simple. When you factor my design time, (couple hours) with compound curve manual tools. My time with the CAD guys, (couple hours). Paying for prototype lazered pieces in aluminum and steel, (the holes have to be perfect or the seatback will be twisted), 15 to 20 hours of hand labor, new seats might have been less expensive.
But then it's been that way with the whole car.
