If it's not a warrantee issue, they will definitely prescribe a new set of tires. People have boat payments to make, dude.
I would not worry one bit about that. I've had many tires with that defect, sidewalls are generally way stronger than they need to be. I've had an aged, dry-rotted tire blow on the highway, though.
