However, had it been me and my lawyer had told me to say a word (otherwise, I'd keep quiet), I wouldn't have said anything about getting ready and waiting for them to come through the door. Let the cops figure it out. No need to say anything other than, "I'm old and frail, I was in fear of my life, etc."
