Well, we got off to a later start than originally planned but isn't that always the case. Finally managed to hit the road around 10:30am for a fairly uneventful run to Vienna.
Traffic was fairly light once we managed to fight our way through the Budapest morning traffic and got out on the motorway. The car ran like a dream with our motorway speeds averaging about 140km/h. Over the last three years I have had the entire suspension upgraded, new Bilstein shocks, etc. and it all paid off today.
The weather was perfect - sunny, warm and not a rain cloud in sight. We pulled the top off before pulling out of the garage in Budapest and did not put it back until rolling into the Hilton garage in Vienna.
Once arriving in Vienna, we met up with my friend Dietmar for a few beers and a tour of Vienna, including Schönbrunn Palace, Hofburg Palace, St. Stephens Cathedral and a host of other beautiful places. The day was wrapped up with a casual dinner before heading off to bed.
Tomorrow looks to be a very promising day with a drive along the northern base of the Austrian Alps on our way to Zell am See.
