Of course you are correct Fint. I don't remember which thread it was (maybe the Morman one) that Doug stated something along the lines of poll option #1 and that's what led to the poll in the first place. I actually started to have the 2nd option as: Juvenile and mean-spirited toxic wasteland. Now I don't venture into religious discussions at all, and I'm not a political junkie either, but do like to hear intelligent viewpoints from folks like you and MANY (actually most) others (including Island
), but frankly, I just stay away for the most part. I don't get bent out of shape and not much bothers me (except nasty meaness), but frankly, at my age, I'm just gonna "exit stage left" when that crap starts. Heck, I'm so all over the place, I don't even comprehend the Left/Right, Liberal/Conservative stereotypes that get thrown around. My views (nor those of most folks I know in the real world) just don't fit into those stereotypical categories. In fact, some of the most conservative posters in PARF would be considered left/liberal by many folks I know in the real world. I do believe that mean-spiritedness carries over to OT also...we all deserve better than that...then again, maybe we don't.
