It's a crime that they even
make short-sleeved dress shirts. If it's hot enough to warrant short sleeves, it's hot enough to warrant not wearing a tie, which means sports shirt. There's no confluence of circumstances wear you should need short-sleeves and a tie outside the military, which is fashion/good-taste exempt.
On the jewelry front, I don't know if that's a thing - most of the guys I know don't wear anything outside of a watch, especially in more rural areas. When half of Pelican says they don't wear rings, bracelets, or necklaces/chains, it's not a "most people do this," right?
My philosophy on cell phones is that it's for my convenience, not to put me at everyone's beck and call. I get heat about once a week from someone upset that I didn't answer, didn't text back immediately, or some such nonsense.
