Yeah, I had a Danelectro baritone for awhile. It was tuned B-B, so you could play the exact same chord shapes as a regular guitar but they were just down a 4th. Since I have a low voice and generally capo up a guitar and sing an octave low I figure it might work to just play songs "as written" and it would be in my range. Ended up being too much low end mud though. Playing chords on bass requires a little different approach than on a guitar, and baritone is the same deal. That is one reason I like the high C. I can play voicings that sound good and still be able to hit bass notes. Very fun instrument...
