Hi guys, a freind suggested I should post this to the 914 area in addition to 911. Anyone want to rebuild a 2.7 for their 914?
I've got a 2.7 911S CIS engine that I will shortly be dropping from my '75 911S, and am wondering if there is any interest from people who could pick it up near Sacramento.
The engine is currently in the car and running. I've also done a compression test on videotape (see below for scores). I will probably drop it in the next week or two (sooner if a buyer turns up quickly). I just got this car, intending to do an engine swap, so I don't have a whole lot of history on the engine. What I list below, I can back up with PO's records.
Compression 151-130-147-160-160-155, 180,XXX miles on the car
Carrera Tensioners
11 blade fan
Pop-off valve installed
K&N filter
6 New Injectors, new injector o-rings
Idle and mixture set two months ago
Exhaust guides replaced May 99
No exhaust system (I'm keeping the SSIs and sport muffler)
WUR has the mod to make it adjustable
New alternator
Leaks about two drops of oil per day. I have not tracked down the source of this leak
I need to keep the engine mounts, so those are not included.
This is a complete, running engine (except mounts and exhaust)...but with the miles it's got, it's obviously going to need some work relatively soon.
I have documentation for the valve guide work, but cannot find anything about head studs. I'm going to check the head studs for pulling and composition, and will update this post with that information.
I have no idea what the value of this thing is. I'll leave it open to the highest bidder, or put it on ebay if no interest. Please followup here with questions or if you want to come check it out. Engine drop party date to be determined!
Thanks!
