I have ordered the parts for the brake lines. I'll inspect the pistons while I am in there and see if a rebuild is in order as well. Funny, I am going to be doing this on my mercedes as the parts just came in!

I got to a few things I was hoping to get to. First, I only had a few dash lights working. In checking this out, I started working on a dash wiring diagram to idiot proof my gauge installations.

The first issue that came up was my clock. I changed the bulb and correctly attached the ground, however, the wire that was bundled with this group doesn't appear correct. There is no voltage to this wire. I found another stray wire that was red and blue however, this is only giving me about 2 volts. What color is the power line for the clock? I don't see it in any wiring diagram. Any idea what the white and green wire is for? Here is how I originally had it before putting the red/blue wire on.

I correctly fixed some of the other wiring. Until I get a correct speedo, I have the others taped up.

The tach doesn't work but at least I know what the problem is, my tach is for a 1978 or newer model. Note the TD between + and -. Apparently this should be a "1" or a "C". So, while I was there I installed my radio. It was a pretty easy install as their was some correct aftermarket wiring that correctly colorcoded some of the wires...that I checked this time! The only hiccup is after soldering the ground wire the radio wouldn't work. I cut the wire thinking that something was amiss. As it turns out, some nimrod attached the ground wire to a plastic connection. I moved this to some open body with a vacant screw hole and I was back in business. Still using the old crappy speakers...well speaker, but at least I have tunes. I went to best buy and the only thing they had looks like I they belonged on West Coast Customs. Here is my handy work. The stereo is from 1999 and never been used, my dad had it in his closet. Funny, the aux connection in the instructions say "can be used with your VCR or other external device".

I am bugged though, as I have come down with a cold and tomorrow was supposed to have been my first drive with a few fellow pelicans! Alas, I will have to wait.
