I think they have pretty tough skin. Years ago, I shot one from my upper deck when he as up on a tree. I got as close as 5-7 feet and nailed him with a new CO2 pistol pellet gun(bought it just for that). He looked at me and was laughing inside. Slowly, he climbed down the tree so I want after it with my trusty shovel.
