oh, electric fan assist
I have some exp with electric fan assist supercharging. (other makes models and kits) Waste of time and money. The difficulty is that it drains a LOT of juice and so you need to set up the power like a really big sound system amp. Another problem is that it is one more system...read "one more thing to go wrong". Yea! JUST what you need on a 928! More things to go wrong!
GTV, IMHO, the injectors on these cars are all old and the fuel lines to the rails are all suspect due to age/ mileage. If nothing else, replacing the old and brittle lines will ensure that all that hard work doesn't go up in flames. Cleaning and flow rating the injectors is fairly straightforward and I have done it myself, but it is soo much easier to just send out the banks to a pro and have it done. I would bet a beer that ONE or more of the injectors needs cleaning and or replacing. In the meantime, vac leaks, electrical connections, and the other usual suspect for less than perfect performance can be tracked down. I agree that you need to clean the entire fuel system.
"flat spot at 4500??" I would suggest a separate thread where someone else will suggest that the injectors be serviced, voltages, fuel pressure and vacuum checked.
