I don't own a pickup truck, nor can I play bass (or any instrument at all, for that matter, but I'm a good listener...).
I will admit to prior use, and yes, I did inhale. You guys would be hard pressed to come up with something I didn't try. Alas, that was many, many moons ago - a career, a family, a house, responsibilities. About all that remains of those days is an appreciation for good scotch, good wine, and good beer. I've tried the odd cigar every now and then, but the price is just too high for me - the nausea, headache, and just general "blah" feeling the next day.
O.k., enough about me. I firmly believe
all drugs should be legal and unregulated at any level. Our gubmint, our neighbors, our society have absolutely no business telling us what we can and cannot consume, regardless of its affect on us. They can all educate and advise (and I'm all for that), but "regulate" should be off the table completely.
I, too, have lost friends and family to the two "legal" and "socially acceptable" drugs. It still just irks me that we speak in terms of "drugs and alcohol", while nicotine does not even enter the conversation. There is no distinction - alcohol and nicotine remain the two most addictive, destructive
drugs known to man. That much is an established fact, yet they remain legal under our current laws, and acceptable under our current societal norms. And their legions of users continue to look down their collective noses at folks whose tastes in "poison" differ from their own, arguing the ill affects of the others as reason not to legalize them. Hypocrites. Extremely ignorant, haughty, and conceited hypocrites. It's long past time to put them in their place and let others enjoy whatever guilty pleasures they choose. It's no one else's damn business.
