O-ring Split missing piece
Hi Guys
A little background info. Last month I changed my spark plugs. I ended up removing the intercooler. I greased the o-rings before reinstall and tightening down of the intercooler. About a week later I noticed a sputter like the car was going to stall on initial acceleration. Happened intermittently.
Fast forward tonight, I received a box of spark plug wires from Richard Clewitt.
I decided to removed the intercooler in order to properly route the wires.
I have a twin plug setup. I also have an Andial Intercooler. I removed the intercooler and noticed the o-ring that goes from the Turbo Charge Pipe to the intercooler was ripped and missing a piece approximately 1/2" long. I removed the charge pipe. Checked the charge pipe for the missing piece of o-ring.
No luck. I proceeded to get my shopvac out. Shopvac nossel fit perfectly into the charge pipe. Turned it on, covered intake side of intake tube. Shopvac suction was very strong. Did this for approximately 5 minutes. Checked the shopvac container no rubber o-ring piece. I check the intercooler. Nothing. Do I need to worry about this missing piece of o-ring? I will be ordering some new o-rings from Pelican. Car seemed to be reaching full boost .8 bar prior to this.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
John
