Thanks Timmy for acting as my wingman!

To answer your question, I am going to keep this wire in for a little while, but yes I am planning on tracking down the problem with the wiring harness. At the very least, I am pleased to have a working tach. To be honest, I am somewhat intimidated about jumping into the wiring harness...it is a lot of freaking wires.

I took her for a ride today, it was weird to have a gauge to block the wind through my dash, and to have it working on top of that! I was truly enamored of the green directional lights, vast improvement over the two blinker lights hanging off the side of my steering column.

Here my my latest to do list:
1) Replace rubber brake hoses, inspect brake cylinders
2) Replace door card, drivers side
3) Rekey drivers side door lock
4) Replace upper valve covers....I found one of the leaks on the right upper valve cover. I have tighten it a little more but it hasn't made a difference. I suspect my sanding job didn't make the grade . Best to simply replace it altogether with turbo covers. Looks like I'll be gaining some Porsche wall art!
5) Install new speakers
6) Repair and install door pockets
7) Repair rear deck lid body work
8) remove paint on chrome work (especially around windows)
9) wet sand to clean up the body a bit.

Then the long term plan:
Repaint entire car, probably Irish Green. I know you are thinking why bother with the wet sand. I don't know how long it'll be before I do the complete respray, hopefully only about a year or so.
