Avoid the pistol grip only. Hard to keep it braced while reloading in a scrape. You want to keep the threat addressed at all times. Get a forearm bandolier for easy reloading. Running out of ammo is the shotgun's weakness.
I've always wanted a Model 97 to be able to rack 'em out Chuck Connor style while holding trigger down. I heard some police have their 870s modded like this and would like to be able to do it to mine if possible.
