Exactly what I was thinking. When my compressor went it took the A/C and P/S belts, and left a nice scar on my front engine cover, lol. Car was still drivable home of course, and new belts are less than $20 total. I hear Gates is good from basically all sources, but also that Contitech is good. What is some evidence that Gates is really the "best stuff"? Both are German-made right?

EDIT: If I have the A/C on when i start the car and it's cold out I will sometimes hear the A/C belt (pretty sure it's that belt) squeal for a couple seconds, does that mean i need to tighten the belt a bit?
