of course there will be a LOT of people who never had problems. there are plenty of people who have never had a DME relay problem too. that is not the measuring stick. the fact that a number of people had problems is the measuring stick. i have never heard of a problem with a gates belt, but i've heard of plenty with contitech. in fact, every failure i have ever heard of was a contitech.
the story is pretty much the same with every quality shop i've ever spoken to as well.
i'm deferring to them on this one, and not just relying on my own experience. the sampling is much larger when i include them, making it a lot more reliable.
