Or at least a pretty slimy way of bargaining.
I've got an old guitar amp listed on kijiji. I listed it over a week ago, so it's buried way deep by now, and I haven't had any action on it at all. Been meaning to bump it up, but haven't. Anyway, 8:18pm I get this email:
would u take 175 fore the marshall amp???
I said sure, when do you want to pick it up?
9:39pm I get this email:
I'll give $125 cash. I'm serious and I will show up.
Spidey sense is instantly tingling, but still I said I just got an email an hour ago with an offer for $175, if he doesn't show I'll let you know.
9:53pm he writes back:
My offer is more than fairy dust and dreaming, it's cash.
I reply: Why do I get the feeling you're the same person? In any event, at $125, I'll just keep it. He responds: Not the same person. OK keep it.
I think that's just way too much coincidence that 2 people email me within one hour of each other. Maybe I should write him back and tell him I sold it to the first guy!
