My hatch kept popping up and I noticed that the gap at the top of the hatch was quite wide. I adjusted the hinges at the top of the hatch and moved the hatch forward a small amount and the hatch has not popped open since. It is nice to have a smaller gap between the top of the hatch and the body also.
I also tried the washer trick and it helped a bit, but did not fix the problem.
