The air sensor "thing" will still engage the fuel pump with the key on when lifted.

When you lifted the air sensor was the key on and did you hear the fuel pump run? That is an important bit of info you left out in your description. You said "still nothing" with no explanation of what that means. Obviously no start but fill in a few more details.

If it does run, grab one of your fuel injector lines right above an injector and yank up on it with reasonable force and pop the injector out of the o-ring. Have someone crank the engine while you observe if any fuel is spraying out of the injector. It is a pretty fine mist so position yourself where you have a dark background behind the injector for optimal viewing, You can also spray onto a rag (like I did back in the old days when I was dating) and see if there is a gas spot.

Report back.
